It’s OBSGESSION’s birthday! Two years into supporting biodiversity through Earth Observation
This January, OBSGESSION celebrates its 2nd Birthday, marking another year of Observation of Ecosystem Changes for Action. Focusing on the impact of natural and human-derived pressures via Earth Observation methods, in-situ observations and ecological modelling, the project shows the great possibility of responding to current science and policy needs. The project uses a versatile approach, both existing methods and technologies for predicting and estimating biodiversity changes. With this, OBSGESSION will help approach the challenges of decreasing freshwater and terrestrial biodiversity.
During those 2 years of great work, the project team has managed to allocate six pilots to different locations for forecasting ecosystem productivity and climate change, monitoring freshwater ecosystems, etc. Stay tuned for more information on the pilots. You can also look into OBSGESSION’s news page, where you can find articles with all the updates regarding the project.
Let’s wish our team a Happy 2 Years of hard work and motivation into launching a project which aims to support and preserve our ecosystems, while keeping the population educated about the matter, and included in the positive impact.
